This world seems to be so materialistic at times. Who has the best , who earns the most, who con out do another. When really in my personal life, I don’t care about the things, I care about the people in my life. There are times when ya need a friend, not a person trying to buy your friendship, or judging you by what you buy them. There are times we may feel alone, afraid or lost, and there is nothing better than a friend, or a relative, or someone you really don’t know that well, to just be there.

It is so comforting to know that there is no expectations for money or grand gifts. It is so comforting when you know you are liked for who you are and not what someone can get from another. The “what’s in it for me” life style may feel good artificially to some people, but in my mind, it is the coldest form of relationships. I love this picture because it is the most true example of being there for one another, holding one another up, bringing comfort.

Having conversations, talking to one another, taking a walk, working together on a project, laughing, sitting and absorbing the surroundings, just thankful to be where you are with who you are with, that is living the dream to me.

This past year has stopped us from seeing people in our family that are like that. People that we are just so glad to share time with, and unfortunately , it may be a while before we can share those moments again. Thank goodness for the virtual abilities we have to spend blips of time with others. It is the best there is right now, and that is okay.

The storms of life

Right now , this very time in our lives, the world seems chaotic, we can almost feel the tensions in the air, the political issues, the pandemic issues, lock downs, wearing masks in public, air hugs, people out of work, money issues, people unable to spend time with others, people working from home, virtual church, zoom holidays and yet, I find comfort in knowing that God is right here with us. God never leaves us alone , we can turn our backs on God, but God it there. In the craziest of times, it is more important than ever to stop, to be thankful for what we have, to look for light in the darkness, to stop the noise and the craziness, and to pray. Take time to just be.

May you find comfort in silence, peace is the blessings of life, and faith in things that can’t be seen. Love always, Mrs justa alias Cindy
